Eligibility

Open to MIT undergrads, graduating seniors, and graduate students in all disciplines.


Requirements

GPA
4.0 or better

LANGUAGE
No language requirement

PREREQUISITES
Undergraduates: One class on South Asian politics, culture, history, or business. A full list of academic courses can be found here.
Graduate students: No prerequisites


Funding

Program expenses covered (includes airfare, visa, and a stipend to cover food and accommodation).

Deadlines

The priority deadline for summer 2021 applications is December 15, 2020.

Required Application Materials

When you apply through our application portal, you’ll need to upload the following:

  • Resume/CV

  • Letter of Motivation

  • Unofficial transcript

  • Copy of ID page of passport

  • 2 letters of recommendation (1 for graduate students)

Letter of Motivation

The cover letter is for your MIT-India application itself and should address the following:

  • What are your reasons for applying to MIT-India?

  • What do you hope to achieve with an experience through MIT-India?

  • What type of research or internship experience are you looking for ?

  • What are some skills or experience you offer to potential researchers/supervisors?

Placement Process

Applications are received until January 15, 2021 for summer placement (rolling thereafter). Internships are assigned February 1 - March 30, 2021 for summer placement (rolling thereafter).
